An essential oil in a yied of 0.1% was obtained from fresh twigs of
Keteleeria calcarea
by steam distillation. Twenty-one constituents were identified by GC-MS analysis for the first time. The identified constituents represent 89.59% of the peak area of the oil. Terpenes are major chemical constituents in the oil. The main compounds were (-)-
β
-elemene(2.91%),
β
-caryophyllene(46.21%), humulene(8.59%), caryophyllene oxide(14.53%) and germacrene (4.09%).

Essential oils from the leaves of three species of
Clausena
plants, namely
Clausena dunniana
Levl.,
Clausena lansium
(Lour.) Skeels and
Clausena lenis
Drake were obtained by steam distillation. The chemical constituents of the oils were separated and identified by means of capillary gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. 38, 81 and 28 peaks were separated, respectively, of which 34, 62 and 19 compounds were identified, representing 99.64%, 92.85% and 94.40% of the total oil amount, respectively. The main components of the three essential oils are monoterpenoids, sesquiterpenoids, derivatives of phenol and aliphatics.

A new method for determination of iron in rosin with KSCN by spectrophotometer is introduced. This method has many merits such as easy pretreatment, rapid and accurate, low cost, etc. in contrast with other test methods. And it would be applied satisfactorily to the daily analysis for rosin manufacturers.

Aimed at the color problem of disproportionated rosin soap in present domestic market, rosin soap decoloration experiments are thoroughly studied in this paper. The decoloration by SQZ-9 is ascertained as a simple, economical, prominent process, which can reduce the color of disproportionated rosin soap from Gardner color number 8 to 3. Based on the results, in Guangxi Wuzhou Rosin Ltd.Co., a pilot experiment was done, during which two problems appeared to be the partially high temperature of soap and descending of the transparency of the decolored disproportionated rosin. As the solution to the problems, the decoloring technics was improved. The decoring mechanism is also supposed in this paper.

) was used with the factors of ethanol concentration, ratio of solid to liquid, power of microwave radiation and extracting time. The content of GYP was determined by spectrophotometry. The optimum conditions are as follows:60% EtOH as extracting solvent, solid to liguid ratio 1:20,power of microwave 280 W and extracting time 40 s. The extract yield was 17.83% and extraction rate reached 98.20%. Compared with traditional methods such as leaching by water or organic solvents, it was proved that microwave-assisted extraction of GYP is a rapid method with higher yield.

One of the main technical barriers in biomass gasification development is the formation of tar. After condensation, the tar will not only erode reactors, but affect the following production. So the tar must be eliminated. Tar removal technologies can be divided into two approaches: physical methods and chemical methods. Although the physical methods can eliminate tar very effectively, but during the process they also produce lots of wastewater which pollute the environment. Chemical methods not only can eliminate tar radically, but also increase the conversion rate of the raw material. This paper emphasizes to introduce the chemical methods.

The wastewater release of the national printing and dyeing industry was en studied, then a suitable disposal technics was brought forward. Through the coagulation and deposition, acidification and hydrolysis, aerobic biochemical treatment, the released water steadily meets the first grade of the waste release standard(GB 4287-1992) of national fabric dyeing industry. Based on the example, the possibility and application magnification of disposal was analyzed, and the perfect prospect of the technics was forecasted.

The desert area occupied one third of Chinese land. On the one hand, there is atrocious environment and poor economy in the desert area; on the other hand, there are abundance utilizable biomass resources because of the rigor natural selection. Therefore, utilization of the renewable resources of desert area with modern technology plays an important role in the exploitation and continuable development of the west China. The utilization of herbage, shrub and alga growing upon desert area was summarized.
