Design of Continuous Distillation Process for Hydrogenated Turpentine System

Abstract:

The gas-liquid equilibrium data points of hydrogenated rosin system at atmospheric pressure and temperatures of 169.2-236.6 ℃ were measured using excellent oil and medium oil as solvents to adjust the concentration of hydrogenated rosin. The effects of excellent oil and medium oil as solvents on the distillation and desorption of hydrogenated turpentine were investigated. According to the gas-liquid equilibrium data of hydrogenated rosin system, the continuous distillation process and operating temperature of 10 000 tons of hydrogenated rosin were designed and calculated. The results showed that the phase equilibrium temperature of the hydrogenated rosin system increased with the increase of the concentration of hydrogenated rosin and sesquiterpene when the mass fraction of monoterpene was 87.69%, while the phase equilibrium temperature of the system was below 189.8 ℃. When the monoterpene mass fraction was 65.35%, the phase equilibrium temperature of the hydrogenated rosin system also increased with the increase of the concentration of hydrogenated rosin and sesquiterpene, and the maximum temperature could reach 236.6 ℃. The number of distillation column plates is 10, including 6 excellent oil sections and 4 heavy oil sections, and the tower diameter is 500 mm for an annual output of 10 000 tons of hydrogenated rosin continuous distillation process useing a pre-evaporator section.
