Abstract: The geography, climate, forestry situation and major woody oil plants in Fujian province are introduced. Problems in developing woody energy plants are;few woody resources for biodiese oil,small-scale production, relatively few tree species of high quality and productivity, few bases, low management level and low economic efficiency. The tentative plan and prospect of developing forest bioenergy are put forward as follows; strengthening the research on traditional woody oil plants in Fujian, striving for a great breakthrough in the management level and oil yield pew unit area; strengthening the research on selective breeding and manual cultivation of fine tree species; strengthening the researches on comprehensive exploitation and processing technology to enhance economic benefit; increasing investment to research on forestry bio-energy, encouraging, supporting and guiding forest workers and enterprises to plant woody oil plants; establishing bases or biodiesel oil tree farms; strengthening the support and protection for biodiesel oil processing enterprises; encouraging and guiding the consumption of biodiesel oil.
