Abstract: Jatropha curcas L.is widely used in many aspects.Especially much attention has been paid to it as an important energy plant.The oil content of its seed is 40%-60%, J.curcas L.is a renewable energy plant, which may provide bio-gasoline and biodiesel, and is a most helpful energy plant to produce "green gold" biofuels to instead of "black gold" fossil fuels.This paper analyses its species, distribution, developing status and existing problems and proposes the countermeasures for its sustainable application and industrial development.
