Abstract: The magnetic bamboo charcoal materials magnetized by MnFe2O4 and CuFe2O4 were prepared by chemistry-coprecipitation method. The adsorption ability of the materials for acid red B was studied. Results showed that:MnFe2O4-bamboo charcoal material (MnFe2O4-BC) and CuFe2O4-bamboo charcoal material (CuFe2O4-BC) possessed magnetism. CuFe2O4-BC has stronger adsorbability for acid red B. When the dosage of CuFe2O4-BC was 2 g/L and the initial concentration of acid red B was 150 mg/L, the adsorption velocity was fast and the removal of acid red B was 82% in the first 30 min. The adsorptive equilibrium reached at about 20 h. Saturation capacity was about 33 mg/g;the greatest adsorption of acid red B occurred at pH 4.5. the adsorption isotherm of acid red B accorded with the isothermal adsorption equations of Langmuir and Freundlich.
