Abstract: The bio-oil was prepared by direct liguefaction of paulownia with water as solvent and Na2CO3 catalyst in a 1L high pressure reactor. The experimental result showed that the optimal condition for liquefaction was 50g of raw material,480mL of water,5% of catalyst,330r/min of stirring rate, 5-10min of reaction time, and 300-315℃of liquefaction temperature. The total yield of bio-oil could be over 60% and the char yield could be below 2%.
