Comparison of Different Methods for Resveratrol Extraction from Polygonum cuspidatum

Abstract: Four methods such as ethanol extraction, alkaline extraction, ultrasonic extraction and SFE-CO2 were used for extraction of resveratrol from Polygonum cuspidatum. The content of resveratrol in Polygonum cuspidatum was determined by HPLC. The extraction methods were compared based on the yield of resveratrol. The results showed that the ultrasonic extraction was the best method for extraction of resveratrol.
