Research Status on Thermo-chemical Conversion and Utilization of Forestry Biomass in China

Abstract: Biomass is an important renewable carbon resource that can be converted into normal fuels as solid,liquid and gas as well as other chemicals or products.Because of the exhaustion of fossil energy and impaction on environment of full earth, a lots of specialists and scholars pay more attention to the high-efficient utilization of biomass resource in the world.Biomass resource has many merits such as renewable, abundant, widespread, zero exhaustion of CO2 during its utilization.The high-efficient thermo-chemical conversion and utilization is the most important way for biomass energy utilization.This paper narrates the present situation of the technology on biomass thermo-chemical conversion in domestic and abroad.According to the situation of biomass energy in China, the development trends and prospects are discussed.Also some proposals on thermo-chemical utilization of biomass energy for China in future are put forward.
