Abstract: In the 70's of last century, Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge.had been introduced into Heilongjiang province and researches on its breeding had been carried out. This tree species was successfully explanted in Mudanjiang, Shuangyashan and Zhaodong of Heilongjiang province. As a garden tree species, X.sorbifolia Bunge.was introduced and grew well in Harbin. In 1999, the experiment of planting X.sorbifolia Bunge.in light-alkaline land of forestry farm in Zhaodong town was succeeded which provided an optimized tree species for the reformation of the light-alkaline land in Songnen plain of Heilongjiang province. The historical opportunity of Heilongjiang should be seized in the respects of the national strategic demand on energy resources, development of local economy, restructuring of industry in forest areas and progress of technology.Through the establishment of a sufficient, clean, economic, safe and sustainable energy structure, as well as through scientific planning, the bioenergy forest base in Heilongjiang province should be established as soon as possible, so as to utilize and exploit bioenergy scientifically and efficiently.
