Jatropha curcas L. Resource and Development Strategy in Yunnan Province

Abstract: Yunnan province is the biggest distributing region of Jatropha curcas L.and it is mainly distributed in the dry-hot, dry-warm and sub-humid valley of several big rivers in southern subtropical areas.The individuals that blossom between Apr.and May and fructify between Sept.and Oct., yield plenty of seeds and have the best seed quality.Seedling raising measures are the best silviculture method for bio-diesel stock forest of J.curcas L.It is important to conduct the study on well-bred seeds breeding and productive planting techniques on the basis of the collection and preservation of J.curcas L.germplasm resources, emphasize the demonstration and popularization of the techniques, and combine the development of J.curcas L.forest with the plant restoration, ecological construction, and the agricultural industrial restructuring.
