Research on Superior Tree Selection and Breeding Technology of Pistacia chinensis Bunge

Abstract: Henan is one of the regions in China having centralized natural distribution of Pistacia chinensis Bunge.There are many types of natural variabilities in Henan.Through the selection of superior tree for 3 years recently, we had formulated the superior tree standards of P.chinensis, and selected three excellent single trees.The number of fruits, weight of hundred fruits and resistance against pest of these trees are significantly higher than those of the contrast.The cutting and grafting technology of P.chinensis for resolving breeding of P.chinensis was also studied.The survival rates of flock budding in May and June reached 84 % and 66 %, respectively.The technology of flock budding can be extendedly applied further in the production.
