Abstract: The current situation of exploitation and utilization of bioenergy was introduced.The potential and possibility of exploiting the bioenergy in Yunnan were analyzed.It was proposed that cultivation of woody bioenergy resource in Yunnan should be carried out in a more diverse way.More than 60 oily tree species and their ecological habitats were listed.It was suggested that cultivation of woody bio-energy resource in Yunnan should be in line with development of " hot area" and with ecological recovery in " dry hot valley".The urgent task nowadays is to make resource survey, collect the seed resources and establish the nursery.After then, some demonstration should be carried out.
