Advences in Bioelectrochemistry of Bilirubin Oxidase

Abstract: The paper made a summary of bilirubin oxidase in several aspects, i.e. the structural properties, the sources, mechanism of bioelectrocatalytic reaction (the redox potential of the copper ions active center, and mediators involved in electron transportation), the material of modified electrode, immobilization technology and the applications in bio-fuel cells. The paper illustrated the source and structure of bilirubin oxidase, bioelectrocatalysis, bilirubin oxidase fuel cells and application of bilirubin oxidase in electrochemistry.
